Hosur

Our primary site in Hosur, India is lead by the energetic and always smiling Jocelyn Manova. Her enthusiasm to see women in her community become empowered through employment is inspiring. Jocelyn has a social work background and loves crafting. So Choti Hooks was a natural fit! Jocelyn manages a home with two adorable kids and is involved in many activities at their local church as a pastor’s wife. Despite her busy schedule, she has an unending supply of energy and eagerness to recruit, train, and manage ladies from the local area. She is a blessing to so many people in the community, and we are privileged to count her as one of ours.

Karuna Kendra

We are proud to partner with Karuna Kendra, an NGO and botanical sanctuary of sorts that employs the underprivileged and seeks to develop and educate them. The site for this wonderful work is located in a small village outside of the booming city of Hyderabad, India. Grace and Clement have cared for this land and cultivated it to be a blessing to many in the area for over 20 years. They use organic methods to care for the grounds and they even have a vermicompost! Both villagers and city dwellers alike come to Karuna Kendra for respite from their native environments. Grace Clement (aka Grace Aunty) is our master crocheter and trainer. She trains women in crocheting at the Karuna Kendra site and also travels to Hosur our second site to train women there. Her creativity in design and attention to detail are just what we needed to launch Choti Hooks and she has naturally become one of its pillars.
